Our 1st MR2

Our 1st MR2 was stolen, only to be recovered the following morning as a burnt out shell. The %^*$$*!# had stolen the alloys and then set fire to it.

A bit grubby, but I really did use it every day!

Our first car, was a MK2 (SW20) in white, and was one of the first (possibly the first?) into the UK. It had all the toys, electric everything. I did about 25,000 miles per year all year round, on everything from motorways to single track country lanes, and it was great.

When it was stolen, it had done about 146,000 (with a full Toyota history) and was still going strong. It still looked immaculate. The best demonstration for getting out there and driving these cars !!!!!

Modifications including lowering by about an inch all-round. This was fairly crude in the springing department as the springs were just cut down. The shocks had Leda treatment, to reduce their length appropriately.

15" TSW EVOs, in lieu of the standard pathetic Toyota 14" rims.

195/55 Fronts, 225/50 Rears, either Yokohama AVSi or A022

With this setup, it was great to drive, just like a kart. Maybe it was a bit too firm for some. I guess I have a good dentist.

I was sorry to see it go.
