Sierra RS CosworthI took delivery on 1st August 1988. I was only 25 and I pushed the boat out to get it. I'd driven stuff with upto about 130BHP before I bought this. Running it in was fun, even sticking to a conservative rev limit, the torque produced was staggering. It took me about 3 months before I had the bottle to floor it in first. When you do, theres only one thing left to do ..... change to second before you run out of revs.
Its been great to own a car that has stood the test of time. For years, the Sierra Cosworth was the performance cars benchmark. It really makes me feel good to see the comments on cars reviews years later that say 'this cars is good, but its no Cosworth". With a 'modern classic' like this, I've always had the servicing done at the same Ford RS dealer fthat I bought the car from. To me, this car is irreplaceable.
I guess the perfomance car thing runs in the family, a picture from many moons ago, showing my Dad's Pug 205 GTI, the original 1.6 variant, my Sierra RS Cosworth, my Dad's and brothers Dolly Sprint, setup for trialing, later setup for sprints and hillclimbs, and finally my brothers Dolly Sprint, a car 10 years before its time with its 16 valve 2 litre engine.
